Nevada's state Gaming Control Board has given the OK to the sale of the Reno Hilton, which at one time was the largest hotel in the world, to Grand Sierra Resorts. The $150 million sale precludes another $140 million to be spent on transforming the aging Hilton to the spiffy water wonderland Grand Sierra Resort. Has the Southern Nevada gaming boom finally made its way up north? Lets hope so, Reno is a charming city that needs a little shot in the arm to its gaming/entertainment offerings.
