Atlantis Casino Reno to Undergo Major Expansion

The Atlantis Casino in Reno announced a $50 million dollar expansion to its casino, convention space and a skywalk to connect to the Reno Convention Center. Atlantis is one of the top tier joints in Reno, aside from the neighboring Peppermill and the Silver Legacy and Eldorado downtown. This is great news for a fantastic joint.

The hotel-casino could begin work late this year on a 116,000-square-foot expansion that would add significantly to the casino floor and convention space, officials said.

Atlantis' parent company, Monarch Casino & Resort Inc., unveiled the plans Tuesday at its annual shareholders meeting. "The time is right for this company to expand," Co-Chairman and Chief Executive John Farahi said. "Nearly every city you go to in the U.S. has a convention hotel next door to the convention center, and it typically is connected. It makes sense."
