Tropicana Bidding War Reaches 3B Mark - This Could Be It
The massive bidding war for Tropicana owner Aztar continues to the boil, with the latest offer from Columbia-Sussex just shy of $3 Billion dollars at $54/share cash. Rival bidder Pinnacle has until late Thursday May 18 to beat the offer or quit. Most analysts in the gaming industry are betting that Pinnacle will walk away from the deal and take the parting package of $52M + $26M legal fee charge from Aztar. Pinnacle Entertainment has been spotted perusing the Sahara recently, a perennial target of takeover rumors.
