LAS VEGAS (AP) - The oft troubled Las Vegas Monorail derailed early Saturday morning during maintenance checks causing serious structural damage to the rear entrance of the Sahara Hotel & Casino. This is the fourth, and most serious, accident the Las Vegas Monorail has endured since it's opening 17 months ago. Human error is blamed on the accident which fortunately injured none of the guests at the hotel or in the surrounding areas.

"It sounded like a Mack Truck drove through the casino" said Hunter Wynn, a Sahara guest, "everybody at the Craps table hit the deck and crawled under the table." Another eye witness from earthquake prone Southern California compared the thunderous noise to the 1994 Northridge Earthquake. "People at the blackjack tables just got up an ran for the exits as the floor buckled and the walls shook... one old lady ran by screaming 'It's the BIG ONE!'".
