No, Mayor Oscar Goodman isn't going to hand out poker chip business cards or mini bottles of Bombay Sapphire while adorned by a coupla showgirl bimbos. There isn't going to be a parade either. They probably won't be a cake, and the lights of the Flamingo will only dim if the ghost himself scares them out with a sneer from his steely blue eye(s?). No doubt in a perfect world Vegas would embrace its gangland history and throw one of the biggest gangster parties of the year in honor of one of the founding fathers of Vegas: Benjamin Bugsy Siegel.

In order to set the record straight and give the Man whose death gave more to this town than his life did, VegasTripping is proud to present our birthday tribute to Benny Siegel... one of those "Vegas Gods" who you wish was smiling on you when you need to hit that longshot in the 6th at Pimlico, or the 1000 credits on the Wheel of Fortune, or miracle deuce on the river, or get that super hot chick that have no right bringing back to your Budgitel Suite to actually go with you and give you the most righteous fill-in-the-blank you've ever had.

Happy 100th Birthday Benjamin Bugsy Siegel

Mr. Siegel, are you there?

Hotel Guide: The Flamingo

Raise a toast and a slice of cake in honor of the man who didn't start it all.

Happy Birthday Bugsy!
