The Stardust sports book is not only known for being the first of its kind to open in Vegas, but being the first to post betting lines on events in Nevada. All that may change with 'Book director Bob Scucci bailing from the 'Dust and taking a player relationship development gig at the Borgata in AC. Will he come back and manage Echelon's sports betting when it comes online in 2010? Who knows. With the impending closure and implosion of Stardust in the next 12 months, we expect to see many execs and bigwigs jumping ship out of the Stardust.

Here's an excerpt from the story on the LV Sun:

Sports book director Bob Scucci, one of the industry's most influential oddsmakers, is leaving Las Vegas.

Scucci said Sunday he will depart June 1 to be director of relationship marketing for the Borgata Hotel Casino in Atlantic City.
"I'm excited about the possibility. It's a huge promotion for me," Scucci said. "Opportunities like this come only once in your career."

Scucci has been director of the Stardust book since 2002. He followed Joe Lupo, the senior vice president of operations for Borgata.
