From In Business Las Vegas:
Last year Station Casinos executives were telling investors that the company would begin redeveloping its aging Wild Wild West casino and motel at Tropicana Avenue and Interstate 15 soon after opening its $925 million Red Rock Resort in Summerlin.

That was before the Las Vegas economy -- and particularly its wealthier suburbs -- kicked into high gear and Station realized it could generate bigger profits than expected.

By the time of Station's annual shareholder meeting in May, executives were already reconsidering Wild Wild West's pole position and eyeing any number of the company's vacant or underdeveloped parcels across the Las Vegas Valley for their next major casino.
