Real Deal on the Venetian
Designed to fit somewhere between Paris and Bellagio, the Venetian offers lots of different types of games at higher minimums that most strip casinos. The Venetian's casino is about 10 blocks from the asphalt on the strip - it's a hike. The Venetian's casino is also directly below the Venetians Grand Canals (!) - a design choice that adds to the weird vibes in the casino. There are tons of games, although it seems like most of the tables are closed whenever we roll in there. The clientele used to be a little older (50s) and well heeled but with the opening of Tao night club and Bistro the young and beautiful have flocked to the Venetian to see what color Paris Hilton's panties are on any given night.
Are the vibes lucky at Venetian?
Massive, huge ceilings, opulent floor, you hafta walk a ways to get to the casino from the strip. Slots are tight, minimums are higher than mid-level joints to the south (Harrahs, Flamingo, etc) and almost equivalent to Wynn Las Vegas. We find Wynn Las Vegas to be a much better gaming experience than the Venetian - as do the Venetian's customers. A larger percentage of the Venetian's profits come from non-gaming areas of the resort (dining, entertainment, shopping, rooms) than the gaming portion. The dealers are well trained, somewhat friendly, but not as great as the folks you'll find at Wynn Las Vegas next door. Don't even think about playing the slots here folks... they suck.
What casino games are offered at Venetian?
Lots of gaming options, mostly higher minimums though. Craps, BlackJack, Let It Ride, Caribbean Stud, Three Card Poker, Spanish 21, Casino War, PaiGow Poker, PaiGow Tiles, Baccarat, Roulette and the Big Six. They offer gaming instruction M-F... Craps 11am & 5pm, Roulette 12pm, BlackJack 12:15.
The Venetian opened a glamorous new 29 table poker room in April 2006 featuring an amazing array of plasma TVs for killing time between playable hands, smoke free, a high roller area, comfy chairs and easy access to food when you need a break. They offer discounted rooms to poker players who log a bunch of hours into the tables a day.
Does Venetian have casino comps?
The Venetian wants you to gamble. Poker players get a special rate for rooms provided they put in 8 hours at the tables per day, there are also poker lessons and bad beat jackpots. Venetian also has a neato little gaming guide pdf that you can download from their website.

The Casino:
After losing all weekend at every other casino I entered, Miss Melody and I ventured into the Venetian and proceeded to win at every turn.
We're low-rollers, but I was down about $300 that weekend when we walked into The Venetian that day. We've been through the casino and the shopping mall before, (we even ate at Bouchon a couple time), but we've never gambled there. Why not give it a try?
I put five bucks into one of those penny slots and hit the max bet. Boom! Eighty bucks! So I put twenty into a 50 cent Haywire slot, and BOOM! This time I won about $245. Well, then I went over to the roulette table and put down forty bucks and came away with $120.
In the space of an hour I had won back all my losses from the previous two and a half days.
I tell you this only because I think this place is loose. I have to know, has anybody else experienced good luck at The Venetian?

The suite was beautiful. Had a view facing the strip. We could see down into the inside of the Mirage volcano. Great hotel.

I think Bellagio is clawing it's way back as my favorite place to hang out. Jean Phillippe Patisserrie, Noodles, and the fabulous piano player at Petrossian Bar had me hanging out here longer than I expected to. Last time through, it felt a little old and worn, but at least as of April 08 I felt like it was back in the swing. The conservatory is also the nicest way to wind down a day/night in Vegas. Fantastic.

The crowd was livelier, younger, prettier than most previous times I'd been there. I was really surprised to find so much life on the casino floor on my last trip. Bouchon was as brilliant as ever for breakfast, and still some of the strongest flushing, cleanest toilets. I still think it's a decent to hang, even though the room rates are inflated.

Beautiful resort. Top-notch service and amenities. The suite (standard) was exceptional. Everything about our 3-night stay was fantastic. The hotel is very well kept. We moved to the Bellagio after staying here and the Venetian was definitely nicer than the Bellagio (especially the room, there is no comparison). Try it out. I'm sure you'll agree.

Say what you will about this joint but it's not afraid to be what it is. In an age when seemingly everyone is trying to redefine themed buildings, the Venetian isn't ashamed of what it is. Now if only they could keep the facilities in top shape.

Best and largest rooms on the strip. I rank it a little lower than Encore and Wynn because the gambling atmosphere is a little "uptight" and "warehouse" feel. I like a more party and loud gambling atmosphere.

My new favorite, getting comped will do that for a casino. Great restaurants and best club, Tao and Tao beach. Service is excellent and location is good. Looking forward to going back.

Saw the Venetian on our first trip to Vegas and dreamt of staying there. Well, with the help of websites such as these we discovered promo codes and did on our next trip. The rooms are amazing and the pool area is really nice - a lot of space to relax and not feel crammed in like some other pool areas. We try and stay here a few nights on every trip - promo code permitting ;0)

This was the first place I stayed. The second I stepped foot into that lobby, the obsession began. I was hooked. Great rooms, great restaurants, great service. And the casino's not so bad either.

stayed in the venezia concierge level. it's a pain in the ass to get to your room but the one great thing about it was that they have complimentary cocktails in the early evening. drank the bar out of jack one day. don't forget though just cuz it's free doesn't mean you don't tip.

Many people here dislike the Venetian because of the phony decor (in my opinion better than the Wynn) . A lot of things in the Venetian are fake but its not that bad. Anyway, the hotel is cozy with small hidden places where you can people watch and enjoy a snack (Bouchon pasteries). The grand cannel shops is a great touch to the resort to hang out. The rooms are great but it just does not have that "feel" to it like the Bellagio has.

This is my favorite strip casino. It's absolutely gorgeous. The detail that has gone into this place is amazing. The rooms are suites and very nice. The gambling, in my opinion, is like most places on the strip, tight. They don't build these big casinos on the backs of winners. It is however, one of the top places to see in this great city.

I like the Venetian even with the huge odor. I still love to wonder around and eat a Mario Batali's restaurant at the grand Canal shops. BTW: Large and nicely renovated rooms!

This place was alright. Only came here to eat and ride the gondola which was way too crowded.

Fantastic restaurants (Delmonico). Rooms are getting a bit worn and not a great place to gamble. Overall a great facility.

Beautiful!! A bit large though. It took a long time to get our bags after check in. They did offer upgrades upon checkin. We chose the 1400 sq ft piazza suite. Boy was that fun. Be sure to call in room dining and inquire about a coffee pot. They will bring it up to you with enough for your entire stay for less than $5 total. Be sure to visit the Buchon bistro. Great treats and snacks. Looking forward to staying here again.

I thought the room was nice. Not amazing, but pretty nice. The biggest downfall of this place is that it is gigantic and maze-like. It's nearly impossible to know your way around in any less than 2 days. Frustrating.

Very nice large well appointed rooms. Great Dining options, Great Location, Overrated Spa with lousy wet facilities, The reason I rate Venetian a 4 while Mandalay Bay, TI and Mirage get 5s is because I take value into consideration.

Venetian is entertaining, the sheer size of it affords not only mucho people watching but measurable enjoyment just from exploring its expanses. Gambling here sucks though, you might as well just donate your cash to the water features outside as this activity will likely take the same amount of time as losing the money gambling inside and leave you feeling just as unsatisfied. Phantom is a great show, and the AVN porno convention is here every year.

I have not stayed here but I like the casino and the bloody mary's here are great!

Good sized rooms with a funky design (step down living room), I stayed here for a week during a Convention and got very comfortable here. It’s not as high end as they would like to be, but it’s a solid B .

It is a beautiful hotel blessed with atmosphere, food, and a Phantom. the wax museum is a must and Tao is a fun, hip restaurant. Blue Man Group is amazing and so are the HUGE rooms. Stay here!

A nice experience with nice staff, but a gaudy room that seemed less than worth the money, the sunken bedroom was just a step for me to trip over in the night, best robe this side of the greenbrier. Dinner was good at the restaurants, sorry don't remember the names but wouldn't hesitate to eat there.

pretty nice place to stay really. it is starting to show it's age a little (in terms of upkeep) and is lacking some of the little touches that make say a bellagio or wynn nicer, but if you can get a *good* room rate here i think it's worth it. i wouldn't stay for the non-special rates...
the poker room is nice
the restaurants are pretty great i think
the rest of the casino is a little blah...
