You Can't See All of Vegas In One Trip... Or Can You?

Potpourri Trip Report - Vegas Building Updates and Photos - April 2006

Hopped back into the battle wagon again - next stop: the Hilton. The left turn lane at Sahara was closed so I went on a detour down the strip when i noticed:

Westward, Ho! - 12:44pm

Westward, Ho! is gone. Demolished, flattened, pancaked. All thats left is the gold mushroom looking thingy that stood outside (presumably that's gonna get donated to the Neon Museum) other than that... the whole property is gone. Sorry about the picture quality - took it from a moving car.

The Palazzo - 12:49pm

The Palazzo (the construction next to the Venetian) is about 4 stories tall now - all raw iron. We're very curious how they're going to sew the Palazzo into the Venetian. We'll soon see.

Did a quick jaunt through the Hilton (12:57pm) and got stuck behind a gate at the Hard Rock's valet parking lot (1:12am) before trolling down Harmon Avenue to scope out the Las Ramblas site and...

W Hotel

W Hotel is also under construction, and in the same state as Project City Center (a pile of dirt). There are palm trees lining the W property on Harmon Avenue.

Next stop: Hooters.

All in one day? Still looking around for 15 yrs. Not talking about in my 20's in 1976. Have stayed at Caesers, Desert Inn, 1/2 nite at excalibur-yuk-, Mirage alot, Bellagio alot, Venetian-hated it-one nite,Circus- Circus 1 nite just to get away from my kids (true). and at this point Wynn-Wynn-Wynn and some more Wynn. Have seen alot of hotels, and have even lost weight from walking around so much when I wasn't gambling., Last trip a whale tipped me $500 for holding down 3rd base. He felt I played properly that in turn he won $25,000 in 6 hands. Had to have the dealer explain that to me. Had never been tipped by a player. Only in Vegas and u never know what u'll see or what will happen. I keep coming back! How can u possible see all of Vegas, yet experience it in one day. Impossible.
