The Circus Circus Executive Suite #1410
Inside Jay Sarno's Apartment
VT reader Waffle managed to snag a tour of the two-story apartment where Caesars Palace and Circus Circus founder Jay Sarno spent most of the last decade of his life in. Big huge thanks to Waffle for sharing this amazing tour with us! Take it away...
Circus Circus opened on Oct 18th, 1968 infamously without a hotel tower until 1972. According to Dr. Dave's book Grandissimo, Jay Sarno "built himself the ultimate middle-aged semi-bachelor pad in suite 1410...the main room dominated by a giant curving staircase." Sarno stayed in that room until he was bought out by Bill Bennett and Bill Pennington in 1983.
I found it amazing that a hotel suite with so much Vegas history has virtually zero online presence besides a floor plan and two outdated thumbnails. Especially when one can find plenty of pictures of suites at Wynn/Encore, Bellagio and ARIA that are much more exclusive. After years of trying, I was finally able to receive a quick tour of this suite!
According to a floor-plan buried on the Circus Circus meetings page, the Executive Suite is two-stories that in addition to the master, has the ability to add up to six extra bedrooms!
Room 1410 is located in the original casino tower, accessed by elevators right around the corner from the famous Steakhouse. After turning right off the elevators, the entryway of 1410 greets you.
Wow! Double doors! The foyer features a tile landing.
