Ellis Island Super 8 Newly Renovated Rooms
The VegasTripping Review 2016
Unless you are upgrading from a hostel, one star motel, a van or RV with no air conditioning or have no other options, the Ellis Island Super 8 probably isn't for you. Ellis Island's small yet fun casino is certainly charming and it's roster of inexpensive, good quality dining and drinking options is definitely worth exploring. The hotel, on the other hand, is not.
Visitors to Las Vegas who are accustomed to resort level amenities - even at budget levels - will find Ellis Island Super 8's hotel offerings unacceptable. The quality of soft (linens, pillows, carpeting, towels) and case goods (furniture) is substandard for any national name brand. The interior design is obviously the work of an amateur as is the quality of the heralded "renovation" workmanship. Fortunately, these rooms return value via in-room amenities - most notably the existence of a refrigerator and microwave for saving and reheating leftovers from Ellis Islands notable eateries. Location and reasonably good housekeeping are also plus. For all the charm and funky cache, the overpowering musty stench in the room renders this hotel a non-starter.
We've got two walkthrough videos for this room - the our often imitated yet never duplicated Room Rundown and a Black Light Housekeeping Test where we scour the room with a black light looking for organic matter (dun dun duuuuun!)
