PH Towers Photo Review By Head58

Kiss And Condotelling at the P-Tow

Posted by Chuckmonster

The lobby level has a small bar, a large open space for hanging out, and a tiny convenience store (although with two cheaper ABC Stores within a couple minutes walk there's no great need). Massive glass windows lined with comfortable chairs and couches look out at the pool. Although much smaller than the main Planet Hollywood hotel pool space, this one has a good amount of charm, a pool long and deep enough for swimming laps, and an 8 or so person hot tub. There are numerous padded chairs and couches for rent, both on shore and floating, and cabanas available for about $100 a day (depending on location and day of the week). The signs around the pool warn that it is for PH Towers guests only, but you only need to show your keycard to get in, and as far as I could tell the PH and PH Towers keycards are the same.

Despite some concerns I had about the staff and customer service, fueled largely by some negative reviews on some travel sites, all our interactions with the staff were excellent and everyone was positive, helpful and friendly. I'd also seen some dire warnings about the hard-partying guests making lots of noise, and although I saw a number of tiny fedora'd brahs on the property we never heard a peep in our room and the pool was not a complete oontzfest. I suspect some of those reviews may have been confusing the Towers with PH proper. Honestly the worst thing about the place was the smell walking past the Panda Express in the Miracle Mile shops on the way out to the Strip.

Well, to be honest the worst thing about the place is that it is only nominally on the Total Rewards system. You won't get any offers for reduced or comped rates based on your tier points. A pretty serious drawback if you base your stays on what you get from the player's clubs. Only time will tell if we start getting offers based on having stayed there as part of a ploy to get us to plunk down for a timeshare.

To bottom-line it we really dug the PH Towers suite and will probably stay there again for our next trip. There was more than enough room for the two of us, and we'll look into staying there with a couple of other friends. You could easily sleep 5 or 6 people in the 1 bedroom suite, and the 2br is a 1br suite with a studio so you could easily put another 4 or 5 people in that. If you're looking for a decent, reasonably priced suite a quick walk from the center Strip and are willing to trade some of the more sleek modern trappings of Vdara for a less annoying mall, give PH Tower(s) a look.

Thanks for the review... I've always been curious about the PH tower and I think this settles my curiousity. MUCH better than I expected, though. Too bad the tower couldnt be in a better location.

1 for Captain Picard on Windows

It must be Captain Picard Day!

Great review. Would be perfect hotel except the parking blows, no Verizon cell service at least on 52nd floor, pay wifi and the washer/dryer smelled like a moldy trout's asshole.

Very nice review, thanks for sharing.

Sweet review!

That couch is perfect for an orgy.

What was that about the mini washer and dryer under the bathroom vanity? I'm intrigued. Stellar review...I've wandered thru the lobby of this place and wondered what the upstairs looked like.

Thanks, everybody.

W/r/t the washer dryer, we used it for bathing suits and a couple of shirts. It is small but plenty of room for that sort of thing. A box of detergent was provided (didn't check to see if it was replenished after we used it). No funky smell in it at all. It was hell of confusing to operate though and we ended up just mashing buttons to get it to open the door when it was done.

Westgate still owns the property, so it is not under the Caesars (Total Rewards) umbrella. I believe they have designated certain floors for use by the timeshares they sold. The walk to the casino is no more than 100yards through the mall. It has larger rooms and is an easier walk to the strip than Vdara or Signature. There is no restaurant and the lobby bar has very limited hours and selection. The 1 and 2 bdrm units are usually available at a decent price.

Great review, and generally agreed! My SO and I stayed here with another couple over Thanksgiving last year, and I was hesitant based on online reviews, but figured the bang for the buck made it at least worth a shot. Was pleasantly surprised - plenty of room for each couple to feel like we had our own space, but a good community area as well. (That window shade/screen for projector tv is FAB for football season). Split between the four of us, this was by FAR our best option for such a high-capacity holiday weekend. Next time I'm on a group trip to Vegas, this will be the first property I check for availability.

Thanks for the write-up. Haven't read too much about this place.
We've got a one bedroom reserved for four nights this January, to try this place out. Don't mind a little walking, and I do like a nice room - yes, I'm one of those that actually uses a room for more than SSS. Now, I'm really looking forward to this.

Oontzfest, hillarious. Nice review thanks for taking the time, was curious about this place.

A very well put together review. Thanks so much! I've always been curious about the PH Towers, and now I have much more info than I thought.
