The Tropicana Takes Off
Photo Review By VT Reader TwoFours
VT reader TwoFours recently stayed at the brand renewed Tropicana Las Vegas and brought back this review. If you stayed in the old Tropicana, prepare to be astounded. Thank you TwoFours for taking the time to share your TropTripping with us!
The first week of November had me headed to Las Vegas. Originally I had reservations at Mandalay Bay, which had more going for it than any of the non-City Center properties, but an inviting comp and my anxiousness to check out the Trop since our last visit in August.
We arrived at dusk on a Tuesday evening. Used the parking garage easy in off of Las Vegas blvd. A little construction had the walkway to front desk closed a little walk around no big deal. The receptionist was the same person who helped us on our last visit, they had predetermined our room and would not have anything to do with us wanting to pay for an upgrade.
Other than that conflict, check in was much smoother this time but our reservation was for a King smoking, all that was available was 2 queens 2nd floor. Is this the only available smoking floor in the Paradise Tower? I'll have to investigate that later. The second floor location made it easy to head out to the strip or casino that's really nice for a change.
View between the shutters facing southwest. Excalibur, Luxor and Mandalay Bay.
