Since no post has been added to this section of the Board for almost 12 months, I thought I would make a contribution.

Below are some comments and changes that have occurred or in the process in Biloxi, MS.

Scarlet Pearl resort/casino is opening Dec 9…this property is in the city of D’Iberville, located across the bay from IP Biloxi and Boomtown…this place sits right next to I-110 and has a nice size footprint with hotel…MS Gaming Commission says in order for a new casino to open, a unique distinction has to be offered…Scarlet Pearl’s uniqueness is a miniature golf course.

Hard Rock Platinum tower rooms are really nice; modern, hip rooms and amenities…in fact, the 10-year old Royal tower rooms are still in really good shape…we stayed in a few of the two different tower rooms over the past year…the Royal tower suites are plush with a lot of space and comforts; have a private balcony that overlooks the gulf.

Harrah’s Gulf Coast smashed the started-then-stopped-construction across the street and turned this into a ‘park’…reports were saying this would include a pier and other attractions…but right now this is just a grass field…they did have a couple concerts this summer in this field.

I noticed work being done on the unused Casino Magic hotel this past weekend…this hotel is part of the Harrah’s property…nobody could tell me what was going on here…I read a report about 2 years ago saying this hotel was going to open, so maybe they are getting this ready for using.. the huge “for sale” sign is still hanging on the deck of Margaritaville closed casino…

I read where another casino is being considered on the back side of the bay…location will be easier to get to than Margaritaville.

The Beau Rivage started renovating their high limit area during August and work is continuing; should be completed next month…they moved the high limit room and host office to the poker room area next to the steakhouse and then moved the poker room to the closed Memphis BBQ restaurant area…looking forward to this being completed since this construction kinda crowds part of the craps table pit area…I noticed one thing with the MGM profit-growth-plan... they added a coffee pot and refrigerator to the corner rooms, called these junior suites now, and tacked on a room upcharge.
