Below are some highlights from our most recent Vegas trip. I had to attend a conference Nov 30 to Dec 5; I arrived Thursday afternoon, wife Saturday afternoon, and we both left Wednesday night. Work has been busier than normal so I was delayed in posting this report.

Hotel: Vdara… our 1st stay here….the wife and I really enjoy this place …will not hesitate to stay here again…the only complaints were no self-parking, weak water pressure in the shower, and had trouble connecting to the wireless every single time I used my ipad…fitness center was nice, but as expected was smaller than Aria’s…wife said spa facilities were really nice… the walk to either Bellagio or Aria for casino or restaurants was not an issue…the “smallness” of this place was nice… did not take long to get from room to coffee shop or lobby and out the door… plus no mobs of people in the lobby area as other hotels

Show: Love at the Mirage… enjoyable show…still like Mystere better…my three favorite parts were Lucy in the sky with diamonds; all we want is a revolution; and the roller bladders…not a bad seat in the house…seats are really comfortable and have speakers in the head rest…easy to understand the story being told…

Restaurants: Sage (Aria) would have been one of the top 3 dining experience in Vegas of all time for us if not for the hostess and her lame excuses… but after we were seated, the excellent food, service, and atmosphere made up for the hostess...already have on the list for our next trip even though we try to go to different restaurants each trip…Circo (Bellagio) also was a great evening and have no hesitation to eat here again…. we had mixed opinions of Javier’s Mexican (Aria).. she had a very good meal while mine was pretty bland…Wolfgang Puck Pizzeria & Cucina (Crystals) had good pizza but nothing fantastic. Friday night I took two of my colleagues (Vegas ‘infants’) to Circus Circus Steakhouse since one heard about this place and wanted to try... based upon the great meal I had last time here, I had no hesitation returning...well worth the travel up the strip…they both commented this was one of the, if not the best steak they have had…all of us commented that we would come back here again. Had lunch at Maggiano’s Italian in the Fashion Show Mall and was not all that impressed.

Casino: Since I was in Vegas for business, had to attend meetings most of day... as I have stated before in my reports, 99% of my casino play is craps… Aria did have $10 tables during this trip (a difference from this summer’s Vegas visit)…played in late evenings so had to put up with a lot of the night club crowds…many of these people do not respect those already at the game by treating the game as if their actions affect no others… Spent most of my time at Aria or Monte Carlo tables but gave a little time to NYNY, Bellagio, and Mandalay Bay craps pit...these also had $10 minimums..

Marathon: I was in meetings so did not see the beginning of the race…did talk to some runners after they finished and they said the event was much better organized than last year…two of my friends ran the half-marathon and said other than the wind, they had a good experience. Wife and I are planning to run the half-marathon next year.

Airport: Our flight left at almost 7pm Wednesday night … took just 1 hour from time left hotel room, gassed up the rental, returned to the garage, and checked bags at the airport.. not much traffic going into the airport and calm crowds flying out of town… took under 5 minutes to get thru security … no delays in boarding and take-off time met.
