MGM has been trying to dump the Crystals since it opened. I'm curious if the sale is just for the "mall" corporate entity, with MGM retaining ownership of the land and buildings. I'm pretty sure that MGM isn't going to sell the Harmon plot, but anything is possible if they're offered the right price.

Crystals is just so boring, and this is coming from a guy who loves to shop high end designers. Everytime I walk through there I feel sleepy.

This seems like a good thing for the customer. Crystals is a hurdle of boredom and fatigue, since most Vegas tourists can afford Starbucks and maybe the Wolfgang Puck place and otherwise keep on walking.

An independent owner will want profitable tenants out of that place. I think MGM was probably striking friend deals with high faultin' retail in order to build CityCenter's prestige. If they could snatch the Under Armour store from the relative obscurity of the Fashion Show or something, that kind of thing would at least give me cause to stop walking.

I find Crystals to be a vast, relaxing hallway between the cacophony of the strip (or, god forbid, The Cosmo at night) and the Aria. It is like a cadillac version of the halls leading to the Monte Carlo at the south end of that casino. While seeing sales clerks idling about their boutiques is an unwelcome reminder of workaday tedium, it's not quite the bummer as some of the casualties you see out on the street.

Poetic. Just a Cadillac?

That would be your capitalization, not mine. I intended the whole lack-of-impact of the lower case.

Chuckmonster replied on Friday, 4th March 2016

well put. thank you!

I find myself getting increasingly uptight capitalization, like how my ipad needs to auto-cap apple, as if the brand were logically getting more mention than the fruit. Of course I could always fix that in settings...

I really appreciate your linguistic thoughtfulness!

Just as long as they don't ruin the empty Starbucks in Crystals. Nothing like quick coffee and plenty of places to sit for Aria and Cosmo guests. Profit, Pffft!

jimmybond responded on Monday, 7th March 2016

Cosmo is putting in their own Starbucks per this article:

" a Starbucks is slated to open soon by the resortís eastside entrance to Las Vegas Boulevard"

levans responded on Thursday, 10th March 2016

The stores are fine but the place feels like a weigh station used to get to Cosmo and beyond. It's seldom full and a great place to relax in.

It also serves as a drunk-check with those big, barren acoustics amplifying most loud crazy/sloppyness that would go wholly unnoticed in a casino or on the strip.
