I'm thinking about taking a vacation to this little island in the Caribbean next year and I was wondering if anyone's ever been to it?
I've heard it's the Las Vegas of the Caribbean because the island features 14 casinos, lavish resorts, nightlife, and a lot of bars and restaurants and their casinos go by the same rules and payouts (slots) that Vegas does.

Has anyone ever been here before? On a cruise or anything? I'm wanting to know if it's worth the money to go down there for 5 or 6 days.

Being as half of it is owned by the Dutch, I wonder if they sell products from Amsterdam...j/k

I've been hangin at the Indian casino here by my house now that they have blackjack but I need more!! And the Indian casinos...well...don't pay out any $$$ unless you're playing poker.

St. Maarten is the best island in the caribbean. I was there in November and it was amazing. It is worth the money, the time, and you will love it I promise.

The only thing I know about it is Maho Beach, which sits at the end of the runway of the airport. Aircraft Flying Over Maho Beach

Yeah I've heard about that runway and I've seen the pictures. Crazy stuff.
Thanks for the responses! I think next year will be the
"How Broke Can Leesha Go Tour 2009"
I plan on Vegas at the beginning of the year and St. Maarten by the middle/end of the year and if I can squeeze another Vegas weekend there toward the end I'm going to do it. I'm never going to make my way to Amsterdam if I keep this up. By the time I get there all the drugs will be illegal and the red light district won't exist.

I don't smoke the weed anymore. As I got older, the cloudy paranoia became more of a drag than a positive experience. I'm not against it, I just don't enjoy it, like some folks don't enjoy eating Chinese food.

The way medical marijuana laws in California work, you might as well just come visit a friend here as part of your Vegas trips and have them get a buyers card from a "doctor" beforehand (~$100).

Every two blocks there is a barely discreet "caregivers club" storefront usually with glowing green neon pot leaf in the window. Behind their security doors, they've got more types of nanj bud than the c-shops in the 'Dam. Plus drinks, cookies, brownies, nanj soda and a mad array of hardware - scratchers, grinders, kif catchers, bubblers, one hitters, chillums - you name it. For all intents and purposes, nanj is legal in california as long as you have some paperwork.

Amsterdam is a gorgeous city, if you go... stay in the art rooms at the Winston Hotel, get out of the train station ASAP, snag a spacecake at Rasta Baby, and go to the Grey Area, lots of U.S. expats there.
