Yard Of Beer

My next quest to Vegas will entail a stop somewhere to make best friends with one of those 'yard of beer' thingys - the gaudier the cup the better. Mind you, I'm not normally a beer drinker, I prefer straight scotch, but the lure of walking around with a three foot tall plastic cup full of stanky brew dongling around my neck by a strap is an image I just can't get out of my mind.

Forgive my ignorance, but, where exactly does one bee line when in search of such device? I'm thinking Margaritaville, but Jimmy Buffett gives me the heebie jeebies.

In case anyone was wondering, a 'yard' of beer is equal to two pints.

we're definite for our annual anniversary/wife's birthday mega-throwdown early august, but there might be a quickie or two in the interim.

I think all the La Salsa Cantinas sell these as well as the frozen drink stand in front of the world famous Imperial Palace.

I know the little bar inside the Flamingo has them, not Bugsy's Bar but the one bar back by the shops.
If you go to the drink stand by the fountain at Paris they'll put one in a yard glass shaped like the Eiffel Tower
...oOoOoO fancy. I don't think it's as big as the one at Flamingo though.

I had a yard margarita from Flamingo and paid extra $$$ for extra tequila, after drinking that I almost passed out at Caesars from heat + drunkeness. Then again I sucked it down pretty fast. I might as well have shot gunned the thing...if that's even possible.

I say just Google search for a retailer that sells them and take it with you and fill it up with whatever the hell you feel like drinking. The only reason why I've never done it in Vegas is because the beers these place offer for these "yards" are beers I would drink only if I was low on cash and needed to get drunk (Hey I'm a bit of a beer snob, give me a yard of Sam Adams, Fat Tire or Newcastle.).

I do recall seeing that a few of the casinos who set up bars on Fremont Street in the evenings offering them. Binion's does those plastic football shaped ones with a lid and a straw (Real smart, drink beer with a straw gets what you suck up real foamy.).

I did do the half-yard frozen drink thing twice when I was out there last month. (That was my dumbass drinking goal for the trip.) The ones they do at La Bayou are pretty strong and aren't overly sweet, unlike the pina colada I tried at Slots-A-Fun several years back. My next trip my dumbass drinking goal is to down a growler of beer from Chicago Brewing (A growler is a gallon jug.).
