Golden Nugget sues card company and gamblers after mini-baccarat woes

Golden Nugget (AC) lost 41 hands of mini-baccarat in a row, and blames "unshuffled cards" in a lawsuit. Now the Nugget is suing the card manufacturer AND THE GAMBLERS. Link: Click for more from NJ.com

At least the Fox News host in THIS CLIP (link) asks why the casino doesn't just pre-shuffle its cards. (Note: Both taking heads are lawyers, but aren't involved with this case. Also, Fox clearly has no B-roll of baccarat.)

Piers Morgan says it a little more succinctly at the end of THIS CLIP (another link).

GN bought "previously shuffled" cards from Gemaco, but the cards arrived suited. Hence they would come out of the shoe Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, etc.... for an 8 deck baccarat game.

The dealer should have noticed this instantly and told the pit boss. Of course they are going to sue the players, they want their money back!

41 hands of mini-baccarat? Isn't that about half of the 8-deck shoe?

I know when I'm at a blackjack or poker table that has a new deck, the first thing the dealer does is SHUFFLE THE DECK.

Anyway, I still like the Golden Nugget properties, and had no such problems in Atlantic City at its poker, blackjack or pai gow tables.
